Still Friends?

So I have this friend that I would consider my best friend. It seems like whenever I want to talk to this friend, I always have to initiate it. My friend never contacts me for anything. I feel like I'm the one in this friendship keeping it going.

I hear about this friend hanging out with other friends that we have in common. We do live about an hour and a half away, but a phone call or something would be nice! Is this wrong of me to ask for? Should I attempt to continue this friendship, or should I just stop all communication and if that friend wants to contact me, let them do it! I mean, I would hate for us to not talk anymore, but it takes two to tango!
