Im very sorry you had to go through that and not have the support of your mother but you should be proud of the woman you have turned into. The terrible things you went through never stopped you from succeding in life and your story is so inspirational. Im 20 yrs old and was abused as a child by my brother i have never told a living soul and never even written it on paper, but i shared my secret with my boyfriend of 3yrs only few days ago it feels good to finally have the support and to be able to talk about it.Im now looking for a therapist i know i have a long journey but I owe this to myself. Thank you for sharing your story

Hello Rachel,

Thank you for taking the time to post your story. I don't really have any advice for you, except to say what a brave and inspiring woman you've become.

I think you've said it best.. "My past held me down, the present gave me hope and rebuilt strength in me because the future was in my hands."

Yes, your past may have held you back, but your present and future is in your hands..and girl..you've got a bright future!
