My Bestie and I Are Apparently No Longer 'Best' Friends

Well, I know all us women have PMS, but one day, my bestie left in a big hurry without saying goodbye to me. That made me feel horrible. So the next morning, I walk past her because I honestly didn't see her and go sit with my guy friends. Then she comes over and is like, "What? You just walk in and ignore me?"

And at this point all the guys are really quiet and watching intently. I wasn't going to let her win that easy so I simply answered in a non-mean way, "You didn't seem to mind ignoring me while leaving yesterday."

She scoffed and replied really nastily, "Well then I guess we shouldn't be friends then." And then she picks up her backpack and runs off.

All the guys were looking at me like, wth? Because me and my bestie NEVER fight. I just brushed it off and started another conversation.

So five minutes later I'm at my locker and she comes up to me like, "I had things on my mind and excuse me for thinking!" At this point she literalling screaming, causing everyone to look at us.

I was just standing there, listening, grabbing my books, acting cool. "Well you should have told me that."

"Well we shouldn't be friends, since that seems like what you want."

That was the point where I got ticked. Those words had just come out of her mouth, when I hadn't even implied that. I remained cool, though, and replied, "I never said I want to stop being friends."

"Whatever." Slams her locker and walks away.

I stifled a groan and saw my other friend, Sophie coming. I hugged her and she instantly knew I was upset. I told her that my bestie and I had a fight and she was shocked. "What? I thought you two were inseparable."

And we were. But whatever, that's not the point.

So I went back into the classroom and talked to all my guy friends and a few other girls and guess who was by herself? My bestie.

So for about two hours, I was happy talking with my other friends and hanging out with them, while she was by herself.

Then at lunch, she sits at the end of table where I was with other friends and then she cracks and sits next to me.

"We can be friends. Not best friends."

That was a major ouch. I found that extremely rude. She was the first one to crack and she says we shouldn't be best friends.

I just think she is trying to control me.

I really need advice on this situation...
