What to do with job burnout feelings
If you are reading this page, chances are, you have job
burnout. It’s not that you don’t already know you’re
burnt out; it’s just that you looking for some
“excuse” or “reason” to finally leave your job.
Well, if what you need is permission to follow your gut,
then by no means, do so. No one else can tell you whether or not
it’s time to leave or change your current position; however, your
feelings and intuition can do that job for you.
Many times, what a person needs is a breath of fresh air
to get the momentum going again, and staying in the current position,
whether it be the job itself or the feelings you are having about this
job, will not give you the energy you need to feel “alive”
again.
The longer you stay in an unrewarding place, the longer
it will take to get out of the job burnout mode. However, the sooner
you take action, the sooner you’ll have that energy to feel
motivated, inspired, and determined to live fully and happily.
It’s amazing that so many people are afraid of
taking risks. However, the ironic thing about this is, these same
people are taking a risk with their health, happiness, and freedom by
allowing themselves to stay imprisoned in a stressful, uninspiring
environment.
I know this because I have been there many times before.
I have been this person stuck in the grind of working for other people
rather than for myself, and in my opinion, this is when job burnout
begins…when you stop living and working for yourself and start
trying to please everyone else.
There comes a time and a place when you need to come
first. Your health, your happiness, and your destiny are in your hands.
If you do not take control of this yourself, others will
take control, meaning you’ll give them permission to drain you of
your emotional, mental and financial assets, which in my opinion is a
disaster waiting to happen!
Overall, what I am saying to all of those people who are
experiencing job burnout is.. pay attention to your feelings and put
yourself first.
If you are tired of your job, it’s time to look
elsewhere. If you are tired of your burnt out feelings, it’s time
to do something about these feelings.
I know it can be difficult to put yourself first when
there are bills to pay, but what you are feeling is fear, and fear will
eventually loosen up once you take action.
After you take action, the fear will turn into pride and
self-respect, and you’ll question why you didn’t face these
burnt out feelings sooner.
