Don't ever stop trying to lift your self up! by: Brandy Shirley, M.A.
Jennifer,
I know it's a frustrating feeling when your own parent doesn't believe you, especially when the person who sexually abused you was your other parent.
I recommend that you read my free e-book about healing from your child abuse story. In this book, you'll discover why many "mothers" have a hard time believing that their significant other sexually abused their child. Here is an excerpt:
"The reason that many mothers tend to disregard the abuse is due to being in denial that her significant other could possibly be responsible for sexually abusing her child. It may also be due to the mother's own insecurities of being alone, being afraid of raising a child on her own, or being afraid of whatever else she fears."
Don't ever stop trying to lift yourself up, however, regardless of what your mother does or doesn't believe. You will find a guy who likes you for you, but it's important that you start liking yourself first.
