Healthy Eating
Guidelines:
For
your body and mind
The following
healthy eating guidelines will not only help your body image, they will
help your mind and soul as well.
It is common to
feel tremendous pressure to have a perfect
body as well as pressure to eat healthy and exercise on a regular
basis. This is something I will not preach to you because I imagine you
are familiar with what you "should" be doing.
However, my
intention is to help ease your
pressure of everyday "fit" living.
Eating
Healthy Guidelines
- Become
aware
on whether or not your eating habits are healthy, unhealthy, or a
mixture of the two.
If your eating
habits are healthy
you have made a conscious choice to pay attention to what you put in
your body. This means that your thought process is on the importance of
taking care of your body through eating healthy.
If your eating
habits are unhealthy
you have either made a conscious choice to "not care" what you put into
your body or you lack the awareness of what you are allowing into your
body.
If your eating
habits are a mixture of the two
you have made a choice to enjoy eating healthy while allowing the
freedom to experiment with unhealthy foods.
It is important
to understand that there is not a "right" way to eat here. I am just
pointing out the differences between eating habits and thought.
- Make
a decision on what type of eating lifestyle you want for yourself.
Whatever
decision you make is perfect for you at this time. If you choose to eat
unhealthy, so be it. The important thing to remember here is to not
judge yourself for choosing to eat unhealthy and try not to compare
yourself to others who are eating healthier. Others will have their
comments, but that's okay because you are content with your decision.
If you decide you want to change your eating habits in the future,
allow that to happen and don't judge yourself for wanting to better
yourself.
- Do
not judge others for making certain eating choices.
Let others
choose whether or not they want to eat healthy, unhealthy, or a little
of both. It is not for you to decide what they should or shouldn't eat.
Of course, it's okay to be concerned and you have the right to your
worry. However, try not to make your worry theirs. If they are not
concerned, let it be and choose your
own eating habits.
If you are concerned about your child's eating habits, this is another
issue. Take a look at yourself and how you are treating your own eating
habits. This issue may need more support and insight from a trained
health professional.
That's it for the
healthy eating guidelines. Very simple, yet very complex.
