Are You Obsessing Over Your Body Image?
If so, learn how you can change this!

We think about our body image on a daily basis and spend numerous amount of hours, minutes, and seconds grooming ourselves wondering if we look good enough.

Is this healthy or unhealthy behavior?

You can decide on this by the way you feel. Ask yourself these questions...

  • Do I feel horrible when I can't get my hair to look "just right?"
  • Do I feel unattractive?
  • Do I find myself comparing my most unattractive qualities to the most attractive qualities of others?
  • Do I feel insecure with other physical features?
  • Do I appreciate my physical uniqueness?

If you are feeling negatively about your body then it's likely you have developed an unhealthy perception of your physical image.

Don't worry, you are not alone by no means! Actually, you fit the norm.

So, are you ready to start feeling more comfortable in your skin?

Okay, let's get started..

What is a healthy physical image

Having a healthy physical image means that you have the ability to accept your imperfections for what they are. A healthy image also means that you have the awareness that there will be times when you feel bad about your body, but you allow it and don't obsess over these thoughts. As a matter of fact, you are aware of what you "can" change and what you "cannot" change about your physical image.

In other words, when you have a healthy physical image, you don't judge yourself for having imperfections and you accept your body image for what it is.

However, what do you do if you have an unhealthy perception about your physical image?

Improving the Perception of Your Physical Image

Each individual has a reason for not liking their body. Maybe it's due to witnessing a role model degrade themselves, maybe you feel "conceited" if you actually admitted to liking your body, or maybe peers made rude comments about your appearance throughout your childhood.

Whatever the reason, the biggest challenge is knowing how to get over the negative thoughts and feelings.

In order to do this, you will need to practice changing your thoughts on a daily basis, minute by minute, hour by hour depending on how much you obsess about your body.
