Humor

I love this clip from youtube. It's a man who can impersonate 100 different voices in 5 minutes. It may be more amazing than funny, but I got a good laugh out of it.

If the video doesn't appear copy and paste this link into your web browser or directly click on this link if you are able to: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f2krVT5R9PQ

I laughed until I cried on this piece, probably because I can relate with my own cats. It's titled, "Demon Cats!" Wait until you hear the "orange cat," this cat is something else! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Inspiration

I absolutely love these inspiring quotes:

  • "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

    (Jeremiah 29:11)

  • "The sad truth is that excellence makes people nervous."

    (Shana Alexander)

A Loving Tip--Develop Awareness of Your Childhood Feelings

Building a better relationship with yourself starts from childhood. Why?

During childhood, you develop your sense of self through the interactions you have with your parents, guardians, and peers.

If these interactions were negative, harmful, and abusive, chances are you developed a negative view about yourself.

The purpose of this session is to help you uncover feelings and emotions that you have buried from past interactions. Harmful feelings and emotions may be polluting your mind, body, and soul.

Ask yourself these questions:

1.) Was I abused physically, mentally, verbally, or sexually?

2.) If so, have I worked through the hurt or do I keep it inside?

3.) Did I feel misunderstood, not important, ignored, pushed away, criticized, judged, or not good enough just for being me? Was I too be seen and not heard?

4.) Was I able to openly communicate with my family? Was my family around enough for me to talk to them? Was I yelled at a lot?

5.) Have I been able to forgive the ones who have hurt me? Have I been able to forgive myself?

Write and answer these questions in a journal. Take the time and action to do this. You will not feel better if you do not take action to heal unresolved feelings.

Today you are developing awareness. We will begin our next session where we left off today. But look forward to understanding more about yourself and your past.

Note: If bringing up the past is too difficult for you, that's okay. Just take your time and work at your own pace. However, understand that in order to build a better relationship with yourself you may need to address issues that are difficult.

Recommended Resources

I am in the process of writing a few e-books that I plan to share with Relationship-with-Self "newsletter" viewers first before any other viewers. One e-book is about the art of communicating, another is about moving forward from being abused as a child, and another is about how to change your thoughts from dysfunctional to functional! I have many other books in mind, so I will keep you posted and give you "V.I.P" access to each book.

Recommended Resources:

Joel Osteen: Joel is such an inspiration to many people. If you have not watched one of his sermons, I would suggest that you give it a try (for free) on his website. All you have to do is create an account and you can watch any of his inspiring messages on your own time. He gives hope, positivity, appreciation, and takes on a loving approach to creating a better relationship with yourself.
